| 英文描述 | The insecticide called Black Leaf 40 contains high levels of nicotine, and is toxic if used on animals. 100-300 mg is lethal in the horse, due to respiratory failure secondary to muscular paralysis. Mules were killed when fed hay contaminated with nicotine from the drippings of tobacco plants previously hung over the hay (Sanecki et al.). There are no specific lesions at necropsy, and diagnosis rests on the history and analysis of stomach content for nicotine (Sanecki et al.). |
